Concentration Camp day.
My general thoughts prior to going, mainly consisted of it being a building encompassing a dark period of history. There was nothing to move me to shivers.
That all changed.
One of the things that made me traumatised was that they placed a photograph of a pile, no joke, pile, of emaciated corpses in life size (or close to life size) and we were standing right next to that exact place. It was also clearly recognisable from the photo transitioned in real life.
The tour guides casual manner of talking about methods of murder and experimentation, the eerie stillness of the place, the empty urns, the room with the floorboards painted red so that the victim would not freak out seeing blood on the floor before being murdered. It made me wonder, how could they possibly have thought that it was right? What they were doing was for the good? It's all so... perspectival. As Ms Motherwell would say... THERE IS NO ABSOLUTE TRUTH, or sense of righteousness.
Then we had a pretty awesome snowball fight.
And that night more party, more drinks, me being slightly tipsy... bad consequences BUT NOT THAT BAD SO DON'T FREAK OUT :D
